　　参考答案 1 I would like to describe the cigarette shop across the street from my apartment. I don’t actually buy my cigarettes from them, but I’m always slightly fascinated by how a shop that seemingly never has a customer can remain open. Mainly, the shop sells two products - cigarettes and Baijiu (a Chinese liquor), but has a bewildering variety of both. For example, I could buy a pack of Zhongnanhai for SRMB or a glorious pack of Zhonghua for over 70RMB. As far as I can tell, there is essentially no difference between the cigarettes other than price. As for the Baijiu, I’ve never willingly bought a bottle for myself, so I couldn’t possibly comment on the differences between the various brands, although I’m sure they’re legion. The shop itself looks like a kind of shrine to vice, with harsh fluorescent strip lighting and a ten foot-wide counter full of cigarettes flanked by two shelves full of Baijiu on either side. Behind the counter sits a middle-aged man who is always smoking and staring out of the window at nothing. As I said, I don’t use the shop myself, but perhaps I should, because the owner does look awfully lonely at times and may enjoy the human interaction.
